Newlyweds Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee were presenters at the 1961 Academy Award ceremony, handing out the Oscar to the winner in the scoring category, which was Ernest Gold for the film Exodus and Harry Sukman who scored the film "Song Without End." The Oscar ceremony took place April 17, 1961 at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Los Angeles, California. It was the first public appearance made by the Darin's since their marriage on December 1, 1960.

Bobby and Sandy were seen briefly during the recent Oscar 2000 telecast. It was during the "In Memoriam" section of the program, and Ernest Gold, who recently passed away was saluted. A clip of Mr. and Mrs. Darin and Gold during the 1961 ceremony was shown.
