When Daphne overhears her parents and Aunt Mildreds legal plan to hire detectives to find her grandmother incompetent and have her put away, she tearfully runs to Olivers office to ask him to help her. Instead,she runs into the new lawyer in the firm, David Wheelright,who immediately takes more than a business interest in Daphne. He agrees to help her with her problem, since Oliver is out of town. Their discussion leads them outside, where David asks for a date and Daphne accepts.
